Events

Events are the remote actions administrators can take that affect MinistraPRO end-user applications and set-top boxes (STB Set-top boxs).

You can create an event to do the following:

  • Send a message

  • Update the list of available TV channels

  • Reboot an STB

  • Restart the web application loaded in an STB

Information

The Time-to-Live (TTL) setting allows you to schedule an event to occur in the future.

The Events list displays the list of events recorded in the database. By default, events are stored for 14 days. You can configure the storage time in the system.ini configuration files.

Message events

You can send a message to viewers using a system event. In MinistraPRO, messages refer to the text that is displayed in MinistraPRO end-user applications.

A message event can also be set to trigger the following actions:

  • Reboot reboots an STB Set-top box after the user selects OK on their device.

  • Post-function triggers an action after the user selects OK on their device.

Message templates

You can use a message template to fill in the message header and message text that are displayed.

You can create a message template on the Events > Message Templates page by selecting + Create new message template.

TV channels events

You can use a setting in the tv.ini configuration files to refresh the TV channels list after you add new TV channels.
