Creating events

Create an event that affects MinistraPRO end-user applications or set-top boxes (STB Set-top boxs). For example, you can send a message, update the list of TV channels, or reboot an STB.

To create an event

  1. Navigate to Events > Events List.

  2. Select Create new event.

  3. On the New Event screen, add the relevant data.

Recipient

The recipient of the event.

The following options are available:

  • All: All accounts are recipients.

  • Account group: Accounts belonging to a specified group are the recipients.

  • Account: A single account is the recipient.

  • Device: A device is the recipient.

Information

Available only when Account group is selected in Recipient.

The account group affected by the event.

Device

Information

Available only when Device is selected in Recipient.

The device affected by the event.

Action

The type of event.

The following events can be triggered for MinistraPRO end-user applications:

  • Send message: Displays a message.

  • Update channel list: Updates the list of available channels.

The following events can be triggered for Infomir Linux STB Set-top box devices:

  • Reboot: For devices that are online, reboots the STB.

  • Restart portal: For devices that are online, restarts the MinistraPRO portal to which the STB is connected.

  • Channel Playback: Automatically plays the TV channel specified in Channel.

  • Radio Channel Playback: Automatically plays the radio channel specified in Channel.

  • Image Update: For devices that are online, updates the STB firmware.

Information

Available only when Channel Playback or Radio Channel Playback is selected in Action.

Allows you to specify the channel that is automatically played when Channel Playback or Radio Channel Playback is selected in Action.

TTL

The time until the event is live.

Reboot

Information

Available only when Send message is selected in Action.

Reboots a set-top box (STB Set-top box) after the end user selects OK.

Message Templates

Information

Available only when Send message is selected in Action.

Allows you to select a message template.

Message Header

Information

Available only when Send message is selected in Action.

A brief headline of the contents of the message.

Message Text

Information

Available only when Send message is selected in Action.

The contents of the message.

Add post function

Information

Available only when Send message is selected in Action.

Allows you to add a video to the message. A link opens when the end user selects OK.

Post function

Information

Available only when Add post function check box is selected.

Plays the video when the end user selects OK in the message popup.

Video URL

Information

Available only when the Add post function check box is selected.

The URL of the video you are attaching to the message.
