Digital video recording

DVR functionality allows you to provide Catch-up TV, Timeshift TV, and NPVR services to your end users so they can record content for later viewing.

When you enable DVR functionality for a channel, by default, Catch-up TV and Timeshift TV is available to all end users with that channel in their tariff plan. If you want to include NPVR, you must add a service package that includes NPVR to the tariff plan.

You can configure the maximum recording duration in the settings for a channel. The recording duration determines which recording services are available for the channel.

For example, a recording duration of at least one hour provides only NPVR, while a longer recording duration, for example, seven days, provides Catch-up TV, Timeshift TV, and NPVR.

Using service package settings, you can control if DVR is available for the channels included in a tariff plan. For example, you can create a service package and add only the channels for which you have disabled DVR. You can then add this service package to a tariff plan.
