Creating tariff plans

A tariff plan, also referred to as a subscription, defines what an account is subscribed to, including the service packages, the number of devices, and the duration of the subscription.

You can create a new tariff plan or copy an existing tariff plan. Before you can create a new tariff plan, you must configure the content you want to include in your service package.

Copying a tariff plan

Copying an existing tariff plan allows you to reuse the configuration of the tariff plan you copy. For example, you have a standard tariff plan and want to create a premium tariff plan that includes additional service packages or device connections. To create the premium tariff plan, you can copy the standard tariff plan and add the extra service packages or device connections.

To create a new tariff plan

  1. Navigate to Tariffs > Tariff plans.

  2. Select + Add tariff plans.

    Max devices

The maximum total number of devices that subscribers can connect to an account using this tariff plan.

    Information

Devices are added automatically when an end user logs in on a device. The maximum number of devices for an account is determined by the Max devices value configured in the tariff plan associated with that account.

If an end user tries to access content on a new device after the maximum number of devices associated with the account is reached, the MinistraPRO end-user application displays a Device limit reached error. To access content on the new device, one of the existing devices associated with the account must be removed.

A device can be removed in one of the following ways:

    • In the MinistraPRO administrator panel, an administrator removes one of the devices.

    • For backend version 6.26 and later, in the MinistraPRO end-user application, in the Account section, the end user removes one of the devices.

If an account switches to a tariff with a lower device limit, associated devices with the oldest creation time are deleted until the limit is no longer exceeded.

    Max sessions

The maximum number of devices on the account that can stream content simultaneously.

This setting is disabled by default. To enable it, set playback_session_ini to false.
