IPTV channels

Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) allows you to deliver TV channel content over the internet rather than through traditional terrestrial, satellite, or cable formats.

With IPTV, you can offer end users live TV and catch-up TV, which allows end users to pause, rewind, and fast-forward TV content.

The Ministra Pro administrator panel allows you to create, edit, and delete TV channels. You can also change the order in which the channels are displayed by overriding the assigned TV channel number.

To optimise the content for different end-user devices, each TV channel can have multiple output streams. You can also set the storage device used for recording TV channel content.

EPGs for IPTV channels

You can associate a TV channel with an Electronic Programming Guide (EPG), which provides an on‑screen schedule that displays the list of upcoming programs, including titles, start times, end times, and other relevant details. EPGs are displayed in the TV Guide screen of Ministra Pro end-user applications.

Third‑party providers supply EPG data through an XMLTV feed. Ministra Pro stores the XMLTV URL in the backend and retrieves EPG data on a regular basis. Ministra Pro end-user applications download this data from the backend and display it in the TV Guide screen.

In the Ministra Pro administrator panel, you can add an EPG, correct the time zone of an EPG, and manually update an EPG.
