Managing EPG Electronic programming guides

EPGs source files are provided by third-parties.This means an EPG file can be modified, or the time zone of the schedule of upcoming programs may not align with your local schedule.

EPG Electronic programming guide sources are subject to modifications and these changes need to be included in MinistraPRO. MinistraPRO automatically checks for changes to EPG Electronic programming guide files on a daily basis. If required, you can manually force an update of your EPGs from the source files.

MinistraPRO allows you to correct the time zone of an EPG to align it with your local schedule. The correction is applied dynamically to the TV channel when the EPG is updated from the source file. The original XMLTV file is not modified.

To correct EPG time zones

Information

The time zone correction is applied only to the selected channel.

  1. Navigate to IPTV Channels > Channels.

  2. Next to the channel for which you want to edit the time zone, select > Edit.

  3. In the EPG section, in Time Correction for EPG, enter the positive or negative number of minutes by which you want to correct the time.

For example, if your region is 3 hours ahead of the EPG source time zone, enter +180, or your region is 2 hours behind the EPG source time zone, enter -120.

  4. Select Save.

The TV channel schedule is updated to match your local time zone.

Updating EPGs

EPGs are downloaded from the MinistraPRO backend and cached in the MinistraPRO end-user applications. A new version of each EPG is automatically downloaded when an end user opens the MinistraPRO application, or when the cache expires.

Information

From MinistraPRO 6.32, when the backend updates the EPG from the XMLTV source, an event is triggered to send the updated version of the EPG to the MinistraPRO end-user application.
