Device auto-login
You can grant specific devices (STB Set-top boxs) automatic access to MinistraPRO without the need to enter login credentials. Auto-login determines access based on a combination of the MAC address and serial number of the device.
Information
Device auto-login is currently only supported on Infomir Linux STB Set-top boxs.
You can grant auto-login access by one of doing the following:
-
Importing a CSV file with a list of devices.
-
Granting access manually to specific devices.
-
Scanning a QR code with a specific device.
Information
Before a device can use auto-login, make sure the backend is updated to version 6.15 or later, and the device uses an application loaded from the backend. In case of a backend update, the user must restart the device.
Enabling auto-login with file import
The CSV file that you import into MinistraPRO must be a list that includes the following data:
-
MAC
-
Serial number (SN)
-
Model
Optional field.
-
IP
Optional field. If the device has dynamic IP, do not use this field.
Information
Make sure the list does not contain column names. The rows must contain raw data, for example:
FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:F0,SN0000601
FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:F1,SN0000602
Each combination of MAC and SN must be unique. If the list contains duplicates, an error occurs.
To import a CSV file
-
Navigate to .
-
Select Import file.
-
In the window that opens, import the appropriate file:
-
From the drop-down, select the tariff plan for the devices in the list.
-
Open the file by selecting Open a CSV file.
-
-
Select Import.
Devices listed in the imported file connect to MinistraPRO automatically without displaying the login credentials page.
Enabling auto-login manually
If a device that is not listed in any imported CSV files attempts to use auto-login to connect to MinistraPRO, an error occurs. You can grant access to each such device by approving the access request that the device sends.
Before you can manage requests from unlisted devices, make sure the system accepts the requests.
If requests are forbidden, the system does not record requests. By forbidding requests you can prevent overwhelming the system with large numbers of direct access requests.
Information
Users for whose devices you reject an auto-login request or revoke existing auto-login access can still access the service by using login credentials.
To enable access requests
-
Navigate to .
The button in the top-right of the screen, changes dynamically to indicate the current status of accepting access requests:
-
If the button label says Allow requests, the system currently does not accept requests.
-
If the button label says Forbid requests, the system currently accepts requests.
-
-
Select Allow requests.
A banner is displayed at the top of the page confirming the change.
The system records each new request and creates an auto-login record in Pending status. You can now approve or reject requests.
Using auto-login with a QR code
Information
Auto-login with a QR code is available in version 6.24.0 or later.
QR code login functionality in MinistraPRO speeds up the installation process. It allows installation engineers to quickly get authorised access to an application using a mobile phone or a mobile device with a camera.
QR code login functionality is currently supported for Android TV applications, and is available when requested as part of a customized application.
To use QR code functionality, the following must be true:
-
The option to scan a QR code is available in the application being accessed.
-
A secure connection (HTTPS) is configured on the backend of the web server.
-
A camera is present on the mobile device being used to scan the QR code.
To use auto-log in with a QR code
-
Using a mobile phone or a camera device, open a browser.
-
Log in to the MinistraPRO admin panel using the administrator login and password.
-
Navigate to .
-
In the Login column, select the account.
-
Select the Devices Auto-Login tab.
-
Select Scan QR-code.
A banner displays asking for permission to access the camera on the device.
-
Allow MinistraPRO to access the camera on the device.
The device is ready to scan the QR code.
-
On the Android TV, open the application.
-
Navigate to the login screen.
-
Using the Android TV remote control, press and hold OK.
The QR code will display.
-
Using the device, scan the QR code.
The device is added to the list of auto-login devices, and automatically logs in to the account.
Approving auto-login access requests
Each device can request access to auto-login only once. When you grant the request, the device saves the necessary data to its permanent storage.
To approve an access request
-
Navigate to .
-
Select the check boxes for the appropriate records.
-
At the top of the list, select Status > Set approve.
-
For records that you approve for the first time, choose a tariff plan.
Information
For records that you approve for the first time, the system assigns new accounts. The system retains the accounts even if the status of a record changes to Pending and back to Active.
Deleting auto-login records
You can delete auto-login records, regardless of their status. For deleted records, auto-login is disabled but the service is still accessible with login credentials.
Tip
If you delete a record for a device that successfully used auto-login before, the device can attempt to auto-login again and send a new request after the user resets the device.
Information
Deleting the record does not delete the existing associated account.
To delete a record
-
Navigate to .
-
Select the check boxes for the appropriate records.
-
At the top of the list, select Delete.
-
In the window that opens, confirm the action.
All devices with deleted access records are now redirected to the login credentials page whenever they attempt to access the service.
Revoking auto-login access
You can revoke existing auto-login access, for example, when a device changes ownership.
To revoke access
-
Navigate to .
-
Select the check boxes for the appropriate records.
-
At the top of the list, select Reset grant.
-
In the window that opens, confirm the action.
All devices with revoked access are now redirected to the login credentials page whenever they attempt to access the service.
